ABOUT
Catherine “Cat” Mulcahy is a Senior Wealth Advisor at Alexandria Capital, dedicated to creating bespoke strategies for clients that align their goals with their resources in a tax-sensitive, thoughtful manner. She values accompanying clients on their financial journey as their fiduciary, especially as they navigate points of transition.
Cat joined Alexandria Capital in 2013, and is based in the Arlington, VA office. An active member of the Financial Planning Association’s National Capital Area chapter, she serves on the Board as President for 2026. Cat earned a Masters in Taxation from Northeastern University, and received a bachelor’s degree in Applied Economic Management with a minor in Business from Virginia Tech. She holds the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® designation.
In her spare time, she is a soccer trainer, holding the USSF “D” license. She is an avid reader, sports fan, and enjoys spending quality time with her family and friends.
Taking an education-first approach, Cat thrives at fitting the puzzle pieces together with a client to develop a path that both makes sense for the client, but also to the client. She takes deep pride in being a trusted resource, and loves to see client’s small wins along the way turn to big successes.
